World War 1 Introduction

World War 1 is a War that happened a century ago.This war took place in

a few countries and lasted for quite a while.

Why did World War 1 Start?

World War 1 came to an existence in the year 1914 when Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria went to a military review.While Archduke Franz Ferdinand was at the military Gavrilo Princip,a serbian man killed not just Archduke Franz Ferdinand but his wife too.After the doing of Gavrilo Princip,Archduke Franz Ferdinand’s country swore to avenge him and started World War 1.

What Countries Fought?

Britain,France,Russia,Italy and the United States were involved.These countries fought against the Central Powers which involved Germany,Austria-Hungary,Ottoman Empire and Bulgaria.

Where did World War 1 Happen?

The World War took place in these countries - Europe,Africa Middle East and Asia

When and Why World 1 Ended?

World War 1 lasted for 4 years so it ended in the year 1918.As the British,French and American armies became more powerful and advanced,the alliance between the central powers started to collapse and finally surrendered on the 11th of November 1918.Turkey signed an armistice at the end of October.Austria-Hungary also signed the armistice too but they signed in November.
